Began one-year clerkship with the Honorable Norman K. Moon, Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals of Virginia, in August, 1997. In October, President Clinton appointed Judge Moon to the the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate and invested on November 25, 1997, at the federal courthouse in Lynchburg, Virginia. Roderick continued to work for Judge Moon as a federal clerk. As of August 1, 1998, Roderick bacame an assistant city attorney in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in the Administrative Law section; serving in the Litigation section in 1999. Rod moved to Ghent section of Norfolk; January 2001. Recently completed chapter on "Conflict of Interest" for new book, 2002. Received the Distinguished Service Award-Local Attorney's of Virginia Government for publication of Economic Development Guidelines, 2004. . 1995's publication "Movies for Farmers" to be considered for Documentary.
