"Where two or three are gathered in my name," was probably the motivational force, which caused families of Preston to gather together for worship. In 1900, the families of Gale Staples; William Chambliss; Joe Henry Thomas; Jack Dodson; Ballad Preston; Thomas Martin; Lewis Watkins; Bob Holt; Governor and James Redd; Horace, Sam, Green, and Nancy Hairston and Pink Turner organized North Antioch Church. It later became Mount Olive East Christian Church. Elder Wash Spencer led the first service of the church in July. Followed by a chain of God sent leaders:
Elder Sam Richardson of Roanoke, VA (1900-1902)
Elder R. L. Peters of Winston-Salem, NC (1902-1905)
Elder Marcellus Walker (1905-1910)
Elder R. L. Peters of Winston-Salem, NC (1910-1916)
Elder Samuel H. Hairston (1916-1941)
Elder William Galloway, Reidsville, NC
Elder P. E. Carter, Greensboro, NC
Elder J. L. Galloway (1955-late 60's)
Reverend George Hart of Reidsville, NC (1970-1989)
Reverend Kenneth Davis of Greensboro, NC (1991-current) presently a resident of Henry Co.
Under the leadership of pastor Davis, a bi-monthly children's church was begun. Deacons Louis and Mildred Preston are the teachers of this program along with the Youth Minister, Steven Mayhan, as part of the Christian Education Department. Several other programs were started or refurbished under Pastor Davis' leadership including, children's sermonette, newsletter and website sponsored by the Evangelism department and Evangelism Minister John Adams, Praise Team sponsored by the Worship department along with Worship Minister Carolyn Garnes, MOE Praise dancers under the leadership of Sister Wanda Redd and Young Adult Fellowship currently under the leadership of Youth Minister Antonio Redd.
